Tomorrow is the 1st anniversary of the date my mum passed away. Yes, I'm just about holding it together. I've cried a couple of times today. I've learnt to let those emotions flow. They can cause all sorts of trouble otherwise.
She was a remarkable woman, my mum. I miss her every day, even more so for the fact my little one will be a year soon. Yes, she died just before he was born. It was a very challenging set of circumstances that has certainly changed me forever. I could talk about it for a long time, but now is not that time.
She was funny, my mum. She came out with some brilliantly weird things sometimes. And this is where the moon face design comes from. She once told me my face was 'big and round like the moon'. When I looked offended she retorted 'Nothing wrong with the moon love'. It's a story I've told many friends, and one I included in her eulogy. And now I'm sharing it with you.
And not just that, I've put it in a design, and put that in my shop in the form of a 30cm x 30cm print....and a tote bag. And 100% of profits will go to Alzheimer's Society.
