Put It Out

Dirty, blue bin.
Plastic top mottled by old cigarettes.
Scars left by those who hold their breath,
extinguishing the flame.

Lonely, blue bin.
Abandoned red flowers drop curling leaves.
Browning stems sagging,
time passing,
weighted with someone
pausing,
before stubbing out their love.
