This is not my first attempt at a self portrait. And it will likely not be the last, but I like this one and I'm willing to share it.

Creation is inherent. We are all creators. I painted this shortly after I had my little one. My mother had passed just one month before he was born. I remember that I was amazed with how empty I felt, and how full of the power of creation. 

My identity had changed and I was struggling to align who I had been with who I had become. It was a peculiar but magical time of my life that has grown increasingly wonderful as I've found myself again.

This unique piece highlights the beauty of the natural world intertwined with the human spirit.
